Starting a NEW rotation in Covid19 Lockdown - Calendar Invitations
This week is the start of a NEW rotation of Year 9 and Year 10 learners for Technology. There are some Year 9 learners who I have not met face to face yet.
In order to start the class off and for the students to attend the lesson, I have designed a basic Introductory Calendar Invitation which I have sent out to learners. This is essentially the same as directing students to my classroom door, so that I may be able to talk to the learners face to face (via the hangout), and undertake an Introductory lesson with the learners.

Student Email Invitation
The following is an example of the calendar invitation that students receive in their email inbox. It is very personalised in terms of what the students can expect to do in the lesson that is specific to that particular date and time.

By following the instructions on the front on my Subject Site DigiTech with Ms Anderson, anybody is able to navigate to the lesson instructions.

By clicking on 'more details' in the bottom left hand corner of the calendar entry, you will be able to view the entire contents of the lesson, as shown below.

How did you access the lesson instructions for your very first DigiTech class?

was kinda hard to access the lesson and kinda easy.
How did you feel about receiving a calendar invitation in your email for your very first DigiTech class? Why did you feel this way?
Q3) well my feeling about receiving an invitation is kinda new to me because I never receive anything that connects to the calendar and my gmail.So everything is really new ...... :)

DeleteQ1: For the first time I access my class lesson was a week ago and how I got access to that class, my teacher Hinerau Anderson, sent me a link to her hangout and also gave me access to a calendar that I could use to get to her class.
ReplyDeleteQ2: well for me it is my first class for digital tech, so for me it was a little bit hard.
Q3:I was so happy because it was easier for me to see my classes and which i need to go to.

I liked that you were happy about being able to see your classes. I'm guessing that you are referring to receiving a calendar invitation to get to class :)
DeleteQ1)I accessed it on my mail and found it was marked on my calendar.
ReplyDeleteQ2) It was pretty easy because our work was on our work space and we've been using that for our other learning.
Q3) I felt scared and nervous when I got my first invitation sent to me for my first lesson of DigiTech because it was my first time I was gonna have DigiTech and we haven't been in the class room or met the teacher in real life so that's what made me nervous.
Kia ora Stephney, that's great to read that you found it pretty easy to access the work. I hope you felt okay by the end of the lesson and didn't feel nervous the whole time. I felt nervous before meeting your class too, but I really enjoyed teaching you all.

Kia ora Moonlight, I understand what you mean about feeling nervous about meeting a new teacher for the first time and attending your first lesson. Especially when you are meeting in a google hangout online. I am glad that you liked having a calendar invitation and that it was easy for you to see what class you had and where you needed to go :)
